Thousands of pilgrims travel to Spain each year to  walk the Camino de Santiago, or Way of St. James, trails that stretch across Europe ending at the Cathedral in Santiago de Compostela where the apostles remains are buried. When St. James day falls on a Sunday the cathedral declares a Holy Year attracting more tourists....Pilgrims walk through Montefurado on the primitive section of the Camino's northern route. The primitive section is the oldest and regarded as the most difficult hiking on the Camino de Santiago. Galician villages that feature buildings with rooves made of slate contrast the modern wind powered electricity generators.
